Almost 2-in-3 Aussies say a cigarette sales ban would be a 'good thing'

Publicly released:
Australia; VIC

A survey has found that almost two-thirds of Australians think it would be ’a good thing’ if there came a time when it  was no longer legal to sell cigarettes in shops in Australia. The national survey found that only 16.7 per cent thought it would be ’a bad thing’. Around half of those who responded to the survey said they would support the phasing out of cigarette sales over a defined period of time, with most supporting a 10 year time frame.
