Almost three-quarters of COVID survivors have lingering symptoms

Long-lasting problems are occurring for many people after being infected with COVID-19. But the frequency, variety, and severity of these complications aren’t yet well understood. Researchers reviewed 45 studies, which included 9751 participants, and found that almost three-quarters of people (median estimate) had at least one persisting symptom. The most frequent symptoms were shortness of breath, fatigue, and sleep disorders. However, the included studies differed widely from each other, so longer investigations that have similar, repeatable designs are required.
