A man in the US has reported losing vision in one eye in the weeks following a COVID-19 infection, and experts believe he may have developed an autoimmune disease and acute bacterial infection that could be related to COVID-19. The case study suggests the man developed a type of autoimmune disease called Immunoglobulin G4-related disease (IgG4-RD) whilst simultaneously developing a bacterial infection. They suggest his prior COVID-19 infection suggests a possible relationship between COVID-19 and IgG4-RD.
