Only 1-in-4 infants, 1-in-3 toddlers meeting screen time guidelines in the West

While US guidelines state children under two should not be watching screens and children aged two to five should be limited to just a couple of hours of screentime a day, international researchers say few children are meeting those targets around the Western world. Combining data from about 60 studies including a total of 89,163 kids, the researchers say only about 24.7 per cent of children under two did not watch screens, and just 35.6 per cent of those aged two to five had their screen time limited appropriately by their caregivers. Almost all the studies were conducted across North America, Australia, New Zealand and Europe.
