Kick up your heels for leg ulcers

Auckland researchers have found resistance exercises and aerobic movements, including walking three times a week, helps venous leg ulcers to heal at a greater rate than they do with just compression treatments alone. Exercise is often recommended as part of a treatment plan for the condition, but the effectiveness of different types of exercises hadn't been tested. The authors found daily sets of heel raises plus physical activity may work well when done in conjunction with compression.
