From: JAMAThis observational study found no association between long-term dietary intake of gluten and cognitive function among a large group of middle-age women without celiac disease.
Eating gluten long term will only have a negative effect on a woman's brain function if she has celiac disease, according to a US study. 13,494 women without celiac disease who were participants in a long-term health study underwent tests to check their brain performance. The researchers found no significant differences in test scores between those who consumed high amounts of gluten over 25 years and those who consumed lower amounts of gluten.
