COVID-19 patient completely lost sense of smell

Embargoed until: Publicly released:
French doctors present the case of a woman in her 40s who reported completely losing her sense of smell as the most noticeable symptom of contracting COVID-19. Upon scanning her head, they found her nasal cavity was partly blocked by inflammation, disabling her sense of smell. Loss of the sense may be an early warning sign of COVID-19, they say.
