Aussies with transplanted hearts or lungs may be at high risk of non-melanoma skin cancer
A small Australian study of 94 people with heart or lung transplants found that two-thirds of them had developed non-melanoma skin cancer in the decade after the transplant surgery, a relatively high frequency. Older patients and those who had had skin cancer prior to the surgery were at highest risk, while those with darker skin were at lower risk.
