Previous media experience
My research has received extensive coverage in the press (eg. The Guardian, ABC news, Le Monde, The Irish Times), science blogs and newsletters (eg. Science Daily, Geochemical News), and I have been interviewed by national and international media including ABC news and The Guardian in relation to volcanic crises in the Ring of Fire.
I have contributed to science communication blogs, videos and podcasts (eg. The Conversation, Scientific American).
I have won science communication competitions (2016 Australia People's Choice for ‘180 Seconds of Science’, 2017 People's Choice for Fresh Science, 2018 Young Tall Poppy Award). I have been an invited speaker in Pint of Science (2017) and BrisScience (2018).
I was a Superstar of STEM 2019-20.

Biography
I am a volcanologist with a passion for understanding how magmatic systems work. I apply high-resolution petrology, geochemistry and geochronology to diverse geological questions, and my current research focuses on why, how and when volcanic eruptions start.I am particularly interested in minerals hosted in volcanic rocks as they provide a detailed record of magmatic processes through time. My approach combines field observations and detailed microscopy with state-of-the-art analytical techniques and geochemical modelling at the mineral and melt scale. I am fortunate to study a wide range of active and past volcanic systems in different tectonic settings around the world.
