Prof Fred Jourdan is a geologist specialized in the field of geochronology and geochemistry. He is director of the Western Australian Argon Isotope Facility, a laboratory specialized in the study of the relationship between large volcanic eruptions, asteroid impacts and mass extinctions, as well as the history of the solar system through the study of meteorites.
