Beaker Street, Tasmania’s off beat purveyor of science and art experiences, has announced an ambitious new project for 2020. The team behind the annual Beaker Street Festival has unveiled an entirely new winter project called Sci Art Walks, an innovative series of audio-escapes that will encourage listeners to get out into Tasmania’s stunning natural environments. This new project will be released in August 2020 as part of National Science Week.

The project is a series of engaging audio artworks, featuring unscripted talks by some of the state’s most prominent scientists and cultural icons, and with original music composed and performed by an impressive lineup of Tasmanian musicians. Each episode will be paired with a suggested walking trail, located in iconic parks and reserves around the state.

While the talks will be accessible from anywhere on the world, and free of charge, listeners are encouraged to visit the suggested walking trail if possible.
